DEEP HYPHA RENEWAL PROPOSAL

Deep Hypha will host a Saturday evening meeting to be held in Hilo, Hawaii at the joint meeting of the MSA-MSJ. The time will be spent discussing the possibility of submitting another mycological community proposal to the NSF—Research Coordination Network competition as was done to obtain Deep Hypha funding. Please be thinking of possible topics so that we can begin an on line discussion before Hilo. NSF will have very high expectations of a renewal proposal from mycologists, and it has been suggested that new funding “should take ‘the field to a new height’ or ‘open up an entirely new subfield’ or something equally awesome.” Send suggestions of topics to mblackwell@lsu.edu.
