McLaughlin is coordinating the sampling of non-nucleotide characters.
The emphasis in character sampling is on subcellular (e.g., flagellar
apparatus, nuclear division, etc.) and biochemical traits (e.g,.
cell wall carbohydrates). Because the sampling of many of these
characters is more labor and time intensive than molecular data,
taxon sampling is focused at the ordinal level. Anyone wishing to
participate in this part of the project should contact David.
